Just when I thought I had nailed it, I really nailed it, but some place totally other than the one I was looking at.
Sugarenia is in love with
burned-in designs on
Moleskin notebooks. I really don't get what's with people and their Moleskins. Sug even goes as far as describing it as a 'bundle of joy' which in my mind was reserved to
Haagen Dazs icecream. This is a sacrilege !
Moleskins are seriously overpriced, not at all durable, the paper isn't the best I can find etc . The details that tipped me however were the very strong branding, aesthetic simplicity and the prominent claim of the maker for supremacy. Moleskin is marketed as the 'legendary notebook' (tm), which sounds awfully similar to the 'best operating system on the planet' .
The thing that baffled me is that I thought I had completely isolated the mindset that is common to all* Mac users. In fact I had isolated it to pop-ups, notifications etc.
Tziralis of
OpenCoffee Athens recently noticed that I had a notification sliding occasionally (and flickering) from my Twitter client, which he found annoying. However I simply did not see it at all. I have also noticed that Mac users don't want their office to look 'busy' -- which is totally impossible and pointless to me.
However it's really clear to me now. The claim of supremacy is more common among mac users than the cleaniness. At least until I find some better classification rule.
Btw Sugar is an adorable girl, don't let the bashing deceive you.
* In any sweeping comment, all means 'the vast majority' .
