My own tweets aren't shown immediately on the timeline, but I have to wait for the next feed refresh. I also think a manual 'refresh' button would be useful.

There is already a refresh button. It's the green round arrow. Should I add text to it or change the icon to make it more apparent ? I was worried about making the UI too busy.
The complaint about your own tweets not appearing is valid. I'll try to have it fixed by tomorrow.
Aha! I didn't realize the refresh button was there from the first moment. I think it's OK where it is. You could add a text version in the right click.
